Description

From here, you can easily reach Park Spoor Noord – one of the largest green oases in Antwerp –, the Eilandje, the Art Deco swimming pool on Veldstraat, and the city centre. At the same time, this is a quiet street with lots of young families, and it also boasts an excellent transport score, as public transport, wide cycle paths and the ring road are all within easy reach.

A classic townhouse as it should be: authentic details, high ceilings and doors, beautifully sanded wooden floors, elegant stained-glass windows, a stately entrance hall with stunning tiles, marble fireplaces, mouldings and an elegant, whitewashed staircase.

Living room with a white marble fireplace and parquet flooring; the dining area and, at the rear, beneath the original skylight, the smart kitchen (induction hob, oven, dishwasher) with a storage room and guest toilet. Thanks to the lush fig tree and grapevine, the adjoining city garden has a delightful southern feel. Spacious cellar.

Mezzanine floor with a utility room and a first bathroom, which could do with a bit of a refresh (currently not in use). A few steps up to the +1 level lead to the first bedroom and a passageway to the second, enormous bedroom. On the next mezzanine level: a second bathroom with a bath, shower, toilet, washbasin and, here too, stained-glass windows. On the +2 level, you’ll find a third bedroom and also the fourth – another very large and light-filled bedroom with an elegant fireplace. Finally, on the third floor, there is a surprisingly large attic room with a mezzanine – ideal as an extra sitting area, study, hobby room or (guest) bedroom. As the perfect icing on the cake, there is also a lovely south-facing roof terrace.

owner speaks out

High ceilings, old wooden doors, stained-glass windows and a massive hall… We’ll miss the soul of this house. The tranquillity that lies hidden behind the façade once you step inside is why this was such a wonderful home for us. We fell in love with the house’s authenticity and charm, and we already know that’s something we won’t feel again any time soon. Thanks to the high ceilings and doors, every floor offers a wonderful sense of space. And just when you think you’ve reached the top, there’s yet another floor. We personally consider the surprising space at the very top, with its lovely roof terrace, to be a massive asset – ideal as a hobby room, a large study or a master bedroom.

Practicality has also been taken into account: the separate storage areas on every floor mean you can always keep the living spaces tidy. Downstairs there’s the utility room or scullery, on the first floor the laundry room, and upstairs there’s the mezzanine and the storage room in the hallway. The playful nature of the mezzanine levels also makes each floor look different – which is lovely.

Park Spoor Noord is our back garden. We go for a walk in the greenery every day, and when it’s hot, we seek refreshment in the fountains. We also enjoy the outdoor spaces at home. In summer, we simply pick our breakfast straight from the trees, as figs and grapes grow in abundance in the green, peaceful courtyard.
